Social Skills Development
Our social skills program helps children with autism develop the essential abilities needed for successful social interactions. Through structured activities and guided practice, children learn to navigate social situations with confidence.
Program Components:
- Turn-taking and sharing in group activities
- Reading facial expressions and body language
- Starting and maintaining conversations
- Understanding social rules and expectations
- Making and keeping friendships
- Managing emotions in social settings
- Role-playing and social story practice
Group Settings:
Small groups of 3-5 children matched by age and skill level
Schedule:
Twice weekly sessions, 60 minutes each
Sensory Integration Therapy
Many children with autism experience sensory processing challenges. Our sensory integration program provides therapeutic activities to help children process sensory information effectively and develop self-regulation skills.
Program Components:
- Sensory assessment and individualized sensory diet
- Vestibular and proprioceptive activities
- Tactile exploration and desensitization
- Visual and auditory processing activities
- Calming and alerting strategies
- Sensory-friendly environment adaptations
- Home and school sensory support plans
Therapy Setting:
One-on-one sessions with occupational therapist in dedicated sensory room
Schedule:
1-3 times weekly sessions, 45 minutes each (based on individual needs)
